Bhagavat Katha Toronto 2013 — June 15 to 22 2013
The Hindu community in Canada, with support from the Hindu temples and organizations in the GTA, is holding a nine day spiritual/cultural celebrations in Toronto. The highlight is an 8-day discourse on the Shrimad Bhagavat (called the “Bhagavat Katha”) by the internationally renowned and highly respected Shri Rameshbhai V. Oza… fondly known as “Bhaishri”. The Shrimad Bhagavat is considered one of the most sacred books in Hinduism.
Bhaishri, with residence in the city of Porbander, India (Mahatma Gandhi’s birthplace) has a tremendous popularity all over India and across the world, in particular, the United States, Canada, the UK, Portugal, Africa, Australia and many other countries. Bhaishri has captivated audiences of all ages and communities numbering in millions over the past decade through his divine teachings of the scriptures and his profound strength in identifying spirituality as being a way of daily life. Today, Bhaishri continues to enrich the lives of people all over the world, through his profound wisdom and ever-flowing compassion. (FYI: this is Bhaishri’s 4th visit to Canada).
The Canadian Bhagavat Katha will be held in the Haveli Hall at the beautiful BAPS Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Toronto. We are expecting this event to be attended by 3-4,500 people on weekdays, with attendance on the weekend in the range of 5-8,000. Over the 8 days we expect over 40,000 Indo-Canadians to attend the celebrations from all over Canada, including a large number of visitors from the USA and the UK.
